Magister Software partners network has been recently extended by including two new certified partners: Diana Service, Satu Mare and WBI Data, Odorheiul Secuiesc. Bata is among the first international companies in Romania that hired space in Iulius Mall Timisoara, where a new Bata shop opened this month. Following the example of those of Bucharest or Iasi, the Timisoara Bata shop adopts the itegrated software solution SmartCash Shop, of POS type, based on fiscal printer and touch screen. SmartCash Shop accompanies Bata in the entire country. It means a monopost solution of shop in a box type. A multifunctional working station, MultiCom Shop Server, hosts all the shop’s functions. Lush network of shops, trading cosmetics and body care products, representing the English Lush company, has opened a new shop this month in Timisoara, Iulius Mall. The SmartCash Shop is being implemented here as in other network shops. Lush chooses an integrated SmartCash POS solution based on Datecs fiscal printer. The backoffice station is simultaneously data server, as for the POS system it contains besides the fiscal printer, a Symbol bar codes scanner and a touch screen display.
The products that are scaled bz the help of a DIGI SM300 labeling digital scale, which communicates with the backoffice server by means of a universal plug-in for digital scales, created by Magister Software.

Iulius Mall opened in Timisoara on the 21st of October, the first regional mall of greenfield type in Romania, the biggest real estate project in Timisoara this year. Several Romanian and international brands hurried up to hire space in this new ediffice.
The inauguration of Timisoara Iulius Mall, after the example of Iasi Iulius Mall, has offered the occasion for the River Woods network to advance towards the West of the country by opening a new store and perpetuate the SmartCash Shop tradition. This software solution functions in all the River Woods shops, being always adapted to the permanently growing necessities of such a famous brand on the Romanian market.
The solution relies on the SmartCash POS system based on Datecs FP550T fiscal printer. There is a POS system of Eco POS type in frontoffice and a touch screen display. The MultiCom Shop backoffice server, produced by Magister Software, accomplishes the role of a working station and server simultaneously, ensuring good functions.
The automatic update of the products list and the reception based on packlist type of files are possible by using a customized plug-in. The sales reporting is based on the transferred sales situation in Excel format, and no specialized interface.

October brings about the modernization of two Agricola shops in Bacau. As in the case of other Agricola shops, functioning in Bacau, Buzau, Iasi, Piatra Neamt and Bucharest, the management solution implemented at Agricola Bacau unit 10 and unit 11, remains SmartCash Shop, provided by Magister Software.

The Admir supermarket of Botosani, which implemented the Magister Software solution SmartCash Shop in 2004, in its Standard ECR version, based on cash registers, decided now to update the system, by implementing a more sofisticated version of the program, SmartCash Professional POS, using POS terminals.

This month, the solution produced by Magister Software – SmartCash Shop, has been implemented in Botosani, in the Rolina shop. Rolina has chosen a simple but secure solution, based on cash registers.
The shop has a Datecs cash register in frontoffice, label digital scales with bar code printer and a bar code scanner, which coordinate very well between each other for an increased speed and maximum efficiency.
The backoffice server activity is completed by a bar code printer and a hands-held scanner.
Rolina is a mini-market of medium size, having a reduced space but very well organized.

August brings about a new installation in Iasi, where the Gemi supermarket opens, relying on SmartCash Shop. It is the first supermarket in Iasi that operates with this solution, due to its adaptability in any type of shops and to its good reputation in the area.
Gemi is a medium size supermarket, it ensures a maximum of comfort to its customers by offering products of good quality and flawless services. The shop functions in non-stop regime and has a wide range of goods.

The Regime Autonome of the Official Gazette (the Official Gazette) has chosen SmartCash Shop for its store located at the center for public relations. The solution has been selected from several offers, as a result of a contest, being considered the best one for such specific activity store.
In these circumstances, a great number of normative papers must be published and fastly identified at the moment of sale. Magister Software launches its new model of digital scales communication plug-in, on the 15th of August 2005.
The new type of plug-in tightly functions with the main application, SmartCash, integrating in a single interface the communication with the entire range of digital scale models supported by the program.
The advantage of the new model is that the number of necessary settings for the installation of the plug-in have been significantly reduced, the simple selection of the scale model from a list of accepted models being sufficient.
The communication reliability level has been increased and besides the serial communication protocols, there have also been implemented the TCP/IP communication models for the scales that support such type of transfer.
For the users, the unification of the communication with a wide range of scales in a single program constitutes a financial advantage, taking into consideration the fact that there is no need to acquire separate licences for every different scale model. A single licence allows programming any model of those supported.

The confectionery, pastry and terrace Iepurasul belonging to the Sorama Bussines Rom SRL company in Campulung Muscel, Arges, recently decided to install the SmartCash Shop program.
The confectionery & pastry Iepurasul happens to be the largest and the most known location of such type in Campulung, being situated down town, in front of the Muscel hotel. This confectionery benefits from a huge popularity in the area being a meeting place for the teenagers and youth.

On the occasion of the IIRUC branches managers meeting, which was held on the 27th May this year at the hotel Belvedere in Braila, Magister Software had the chance to present its package of solutions for stores and supermarkets.

Wine Management Company, Brasov, opened in April of this year the Vinalia store, offering a wide range of wine assortments to its customers. The end of April 2005 marked the opening of a new supermarket in Curtea de Arges, New Planet II. Following the first New Planet supermarket tradition, the SC New Planet Ro company was looking for an integrated complete POS sales solution for its new store, and chose once again the Magister Software’s offer.

A Magister Software team stayed for three days in Curtea de Arges to take care of the system’s installation: the software application and the necessary equipments.

The solution is based on three frontoffice POS-es, a backoffice server, a reception and management working station as well as wireless inventory mobile terminals endowed with radio station. The Isdum Impex company opens its second supermarket, Boncea II, in Curtea de Arges, using the same recipe as in the case of its first success in the area - Boncea I, opened last year. For the sake of the best management, Isdum Impex chooses again the solution offered by our company – the SmartCash Shop system, which is perfectly adaptable in such kind of stores.

The store is located in the Central Market area of the town, at the basement, having a surface of around 200 m2. The location, the diversified range of products but especially the software system ensure from the very beginning the success of the business, by fast sales and a great number of customers.

Magister Software has recently launched a new product, part of its retail equipments range: the BS-770 model bar code scanner. At the middle of March this year, the SmartCash system has been implemented at Top Security, a dealer Orange shop in Bucharest, district 2, Dinamo trade complex.

Top Security chose the Minimal ECR version that is created for very small shops and is usually used with cash register type fiscal equipments. This version installed on the PC practically replaces the cash register programming operation, which is more difficult and more cautious, lightening thus the shop’s staff effort by automatizing some operations.

The Minimal ECR SmartCash Shop version does not include stock operations, being just a tool for managing product lists when selling by cash register. The program allows the cash register sales detailed control by exchanges and closings.

The ML Design stores network has chosen the Magister StarLink wireless inventory solution for its stores, for the sake of simplifying the inventory procedure. Thus, due to the new system’s capacity, the time dedicated to the general inventory has been reduced from two days to only several hours.

By means of the wireless mobile terminals it is possible in real time to check the stocks, the store’s organization, the inventory and the shelves in record time.

This solution has been until recently used only in huge stores or supermarkets, but today it is being implemented in medium or small size stores due to its functionalities and to the reduced implementation costs.

The StarLink Server program ensures the relationship between the terminals wireless network and the store’s central data base, using the newest radio technology.

The usage of this program presents a series of advantages:

• The real items stock can be consulted at any moment;
• The displayed information is also available in the date base at the request moment;
• The information about the items may be immediately and very strictly controlled;
• Once the quantity is validated, the data are registered directly in the data base, so the inventory coincides with the process of collecting data.

In March of this year, the La Femme store, situated in the Carrefour Orhideea trading complex, has chosen to implement the SmartCash Shop solution, offered by Magister Software. In the next period of time it is supposed that all the other La Femme stores of the network are to follow its example: the SmartCash Shop POS network system will function at the stores level while the SmartCenter Lite system will function at the warehouse level, both being variants of the SmartCash Shop program.

La Femme is a native brand, being present on the Romanian market for already several years and owning a 5 stores network and a central warehouse in Bucharest.

The chosen situation is an ideal one for such a stores network because it allows the implementation of the system in a very short time and in the circumstances of a reduced budget. The network supposes the communication between the stores and the warehouse by transmitting the data via internet.

The store level activity is very simple: all the necessary information is received by internet from the warehouse. The entire logistics is concentrated at the warehouse’s level, where the goods are being receptioned, catalogued and labeled. Then, the products and the clients list is send by internet to the stores. The same method applies for the goods transfer. By using the SmartCenter Lite program, all the compulsory functions for a multidirectional data transfer between the stores and the warehouse, have been introduced.

The solution functioning in the stores is of monopost POS type and the sale is performed according to the bar codes of each product.

The SmartCash Shop is nowadays one of the most complete integrated retail systems, adaptable in any kind of individual stores or networks of Romania.

The Magister Software solution has been implemented in the second Romanian Bata store, recently opened in Iasi, Iulius Mall trading galleries.

Bata is one of the most important international companies covering a large geographical area. Bata gradually became a different style, adaptable to any environment, responding to its clients necessities, by first class products and a special design. The Bata shoes line has recently conquered the Romanian market.

The offered solution is of monopost type, containing all the necessary elements. The products list automatized update and the reception are performed on the basis of packlist files using a personalized plug-in. The sale reports are made starting from the transferred sale situations, in Excel format, without any specialized interface.

Having at its disposal almost 100 m2 area, the new store promotes in Iasi the concept of perfect quality in the domain, which is specific for the Bata products wideworld.

The store was opened in Romania by the unique Evoline Impex representative. The software supplier is Magister Software, as to the local integrator it is our certified partner in the area, the Vec Impex company.

Though the store has been opened in a record time it is characterised by a special design. The logistics is very well fixed, which is specific to all the Bata shops.

The SmartCash Shop supported this initiative, offering support to the stocks and sales integrated control. Because of the fact that the POS SmartCash and the Datecs FP-550T fiscal printer represent nowadays the fastest fiscal POS available in general use, this variant adapted perfectly well at Bata, ensuring efficient implementation and reliability.

The 6.0.1.40 version of the SmartCash Shop program has been launched in March of this year. It includes a large range of new functions as well as improved variants of already existing functions.
Here are the most important news:

• The interrogations for searching on the products list have been updated, that is why the speed of finding the items on the large products list has been increased.
• The filtering functions on the products lists are now extended and include all the fields that describe the products.
• The search interface of the products list has been updated by emphasizing the filtering role as the main tool of selecting the items.
• A new mechanism has been introduced, which allows displaying in real time the products list last acquisition prices and the trading supplement practiced for each item.
• The searching function that uses the intelligent filtration has been extended. By means of this option, besides identifying the items through the products list, a flitration of it is also performed for the items related to that you are searching for. This mechanism considerably diminishes the chances of an erroneous items selection, the operator being always given the possibility to perform comparaisons between the searched items and the similar ones.
• The integrated labeling system has been revised in order to be able to integrate the legal requests imposed by the transition to the new Romanian lei (RON).
• Support has been added to identify the items after alphanumeric bar codes of variable length. (Code 128, EAN 128)
• A new mode of operating the SmartCash Shop platform has been introduced by using department printers to serve on the counter and centralized cashing on a single POS. This working method allows using a single minimal client SmartCash for every store department. At the end of the order the client gets a ticket listed on a cheap department printer by which later on, the product is identified at the counter for payment. The solution is extremely useful in building material, chemicals shops, etc. The system functions with any ESC/POS compatible printer.
• The POS sale interface execution speed has been dramatically improved by a complete functional separation of the POS-es one from the other. In this way, a high scalability of the sale subsystem has been ensured, the increasing number of POS-es being limited now only to hardware.
• New fidelity card mechanisms have been implemented. They function by combinations between item discount and client discount.
• The Happy Hour fidelity card mechanism has been introduced.
• A new distribution variant, called SmartCenter Lite, has been introduced to support the small stores networks. Using this function, it is possible to control the centralized stores networks by defining one of the stores as operative center. The solution is very useful for the growing store networks (ready-made clothes, shoes, toys, etc), as an alternative to the complete SmartCenter solution, with a reduced budget and minimal substructure necessities.
• Starting with the Professional version, the SmartCash Shop package includes in the same price some plug-ins for the data import from a general format as well as plug-ins for the export towards the headoffice. This way, from now on, the users can transfer data into and from the SmartCash Shop without additional costs and in a perfectly controlled manner.
• In order to help the transition to the RON, new increased functionalities for the automatic controlled rounding off have been introduced for the sale prices.
• The sale, stocks and reception reports have been extended and optimized.
• New methods have been introduced to modify the percent, value or acquisition sale prices. Thus, the capacity to instantly react to the market fluctuations concerning the sale prices politics has been improved.
